Former President of Burson-Marsteller to be Firm’s First Chairman

AUSTIN, TX (June 17, 2010) — Management and Digital consulting firm PulsePoint Group announced today the appointment of Don V. Cogman as Chairman.

Cogman is the former president and chief operating officer of global communications firm Burson-Marsteller, and has been active in public policy work for many years. Cogman has served as a senior counselor with PulsePoint Group since the firm’s founding.

“Don is a true leader in our field, and my partners and I are thrilled to welcome him into this new role,” said Jeff Hunt, principal and PulsePoint co-founder. “His expertise in public affairs, issues management and strategic communications combined with his deep board service experience make him a perfect fit to serve as our first Chairman.”

The Changing World of Communications Management

Cogman brings over 30 years of strategic consulting experience as the company continues to focus on enhancing the rapidly evolving role of communications as a strategic business asset.

“CEOs and other senior executives are appreciating the dramatic impact digital media is having on all aspects of their business, from classic reputation management work to customer engagement to product innovation,” said Cogman. “PulsePoint Group is on the cutting edge of leveraging new media technologies that impact the entire organization, so it’s a very exciting time to be involved.”

In his new role, Cogman will focus on three key areas: client counsel, leveraging his many years as a senior communications executive; strategic planning, working closely with the firm’s partners to help set PulsePoint Group’s future direction; and business development, helping introduce the firm to a wide range of corporate executives.

Cogman currently serves as Chairman of CC Investments, a private investment firm in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Vice-chairman and member of the Board of Trustees of the Scottsdale Cultural Council and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan.

In past years, Cogman served as Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Partnership for Gender Specific Medicine at Columbia University in New York. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Acting Company and a Member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).

Cogman is a native of Oklahoma, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and is married with four children.
